Roberto Martinez wary of "dangerous" Fulham fixture

Roberto Martinez says that Everton need to maintain their recent standard against Fulham despite the Whites' lowly position in the Premier League.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has said that he is wary ahead of today's home game against Fulham following positive results on the road at Manchester United and Arsenal.

The Toffees ended their 21-year wait for a win at Old Trafford thanks to Bryan Oviedo's 85th-minute goal, and followed that up by coming from behind to take a point at the Emirates on Sunday.

Martinez said that he will do all he can to prevent his players from dropping their level against a team who have lost their last 20 matches at Goodison Park and are currently embroiled in a relegation battle.

"The timing is very dangerous for us," the Spaniard told reporters. "We are coming from a real high of The Emirates and Old Trafford and people might think it should be an easy win for the home side.

"But believe me, Fulham are not the third team from the bottom of this league. I don't think this team is going to be any less difficult than the difficult teams we have faced this season. I really believe that.

"I will not accept us dropping our standards. We have to be very wary of that."

The Merseyside outfit are fifth in the Premier League.
