Steven Pienaar upbeat ahead of Everton "comeback"

Steven Pienaar says that he is "working hard" to make his comeback following a lengthy spell out injured.

Steven Pienaar has insisted that he is "working hard every day" to return to first-team action at Everton following a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

The 33-year-old, who played 11 times for the Toffees in the 2014-15 campaign, has made just one appearance since last December due to various injury woes.

The South African is close to being available again for manager Roberto Martinez, and the midfielder is upbeat about his chances.

On Facebook, Pienaar wrote: "Long time... many setbacks, but working hard everyday for my comeback... and there is a light at the end of the tunnel!

"I also just want to say thank you to all my fans out there for all your support! It's good to know you are behind me! See you soon! God is great! #EFC #Schillocomeback."

Pienaar joined Everton from Tottenham Hotspur in 2012.
