Everton complete Samuel Eto'o deal

Everton confirm the signing of former Chelsea striker Samuel Eto'o on a two-year deal.

Everton have confirmed the signing of former Chelsea striker Samuel Eto'o on a two-year deal.

Eto'o had been a free agent since being released by Chelsea at the end of last season, drawing a host of interest from a number of clubs around Europe.

The 33-year-old striker had been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool earlier this month but, following the Reds' acquisition of Mario Balotelli, he has now joined the blue half of Merseyside instead.

The Toffees announced the signing on their official Twitter page as well as confirming that the Cameroon international had signed a two-year deal.

Eto'o, who was recently stripped of his national team's captaincy, scored 12 goals in 34 appearances for Chelsea last season, including nine in 21 Premier League outings.

The veteran has played for some of the biggest clubs in the world during his illustrious career, including Real Madrid, Barcelona and Inter Milan.
