Everton boss Ronald Koeman blasts suggestions that his club have been big spenders in this summer's transfer market.

Everton boss Ronald Koeman has blasted suggestions that his club have been big spenders in this summer's transfer market.

The likes of Michael Keane, Jordan Pickford, Davy Klaassen, Wayne Rooney and Sandro Ramirez have arrived at Goodison Park this summer as the Toffees look to break into the top four in the Premier League.

Speaking after his team's 2-2 draw with Sevilla on Sunday, Koeman claimed that he still wants to sign three new players in this window, and has thus far only spent a net figure of £7m due to receiving £95m from Manchester United for Romelu Lukaku.

"I heard every time that 'Everton is spending £100m, £100m, £100m' but I saw the list and I think we're 16th in the league for spending and we got £95m for Lukaku. We've only spent £7m. It's a different picture than the media is talking," the Liverpool Echo quotes Koeman as saying.

Swansea City midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson is widely expected to join the Toffees next week following weeks of negotiations.
