FA Cup to be renamed in Emirates sponsorship deal?

The FA Cup will reportedly become known as the Emirates FA Cup following a sponsorship deal with the airline.

The FA Cup will be renamed the Emirates FA Cup after the airline agreed a big-money sponsorship deal with the Football Association, according to a report.

Emirates Airlines are due to sign a three-year contract with the governing body worth around £10m per year, according to the Daily Mail.

The terms of the deal dictate that six subsidiary sponsors may also provide backing to the competition, with Budweiser, Nike and William Hill already said to be on board.

The FA Cup is the oldest tournament in world football, dating back 144 years.

Emirates' sponsorship of the FA Cup is expected to be announced ahead of this year's final between Arsenal and Aston Villa on May 30.
