Raphael Varane will become France's youngest ever captain as he is handed the armband for their friendly against Sweden.

Raphael Varane will become the youngest ever player to start a match as captain for France when they face Sweden in an international friendly this evening.

With regular captain Hugo Lloris rested, the 21-year-old defender leads the young side which also includes Eliaquim Mangala, Paul Pogba and Layvin Kurzawa.

Karim Benzema drops to the bench, leaving Andre-Pierre Gignac named the lone striker in the starting XI.

Meanwhile, young striker Isaac Kiese Thelin earns just his second cap for Sweden as they also name an inexperienced side.

With Zlatan Ibrahimovic missing from the squad, the 22-year-old will lead the line, with Alexander Kacaniklic and Nabil Bahoui in support in midfield.
