Christian Streich: 'The players need time'

Christian Streich says that Freiburg's players are looking forward to playing in Europe this season.

Freiburg coach Christian Streich has admitted that the club's players need time to get used to each other following several departures over the summer.

Streich said that the players are looking forward to kicking off their Europa League campaign, which begins on Thursday night against Slovan Liberec.

"It's still going to take time for all the new signings to familiarise themselves with our style of play," Bundesliga.com quotes Streich as saying.

"But the players are really happy to be involved. As a player, I would have been too."

The game kicks off at 8.05pm.
