Lewis Holtby: "I believe" in Fulham

Lewis Holtby is confident that Fulham can improve quickly enough to stay in the Premier League.

Fulham's on-loan midfielder Lewis Holtby has insisted that his new side will be able to escape the drop from the Premier League, despite falling to the bottom of the table with their 3-0 defeat at home to Southampton.

Holtby believes that there is still plenty of time for Fulham to turn things around, and that all it will take to spark a winning run is some confidence from good performances.

"I'm convinced we have the quality here," he told Sky Sports News.

"That's why I signed - because I believe in this club. There are still 14 games to play and we just need to get some confidence. And the best way to do that is at Old Trafford.

"We're one team here and we all have to work together to get the result. The difference was in the second half. In the first half I think we had a good game, had a couple of chances and could have nicked the first goal."

William Kvist also made his Fulham debut alongside Holtby against the Saints.
