Fulham maintain breathing space above drop zone with point at Millwall

Millwall and Fulham play out a deadlocked game in the Championship, leaving the hosts stuck in the relegation zone.

Millwall and Fulham have played out a deadlocked game in the Championship, leaving the hosts stuck in the relegation zone.

After a tight opening 10 minutes, Millwall should have gone in front when home debutant Michael Tonge combined with Nadjim Abdou to set up striker Lee Gregory, who fired over the top.

David Forde also had to be on form for Millwall, saving from Alex Kacaniklic after the Swede was well set up by Vigen Christensen for Fulham. Hugo Rodallega also came close for Fulham, hitting the side-netting after being played in by Scott Parker.

Rodallega continued to be the most likely scorer after the break, his defected effort on 68 minutes leaving Forde glad to get his body behind the ball, while Tonge saw a shot blocked after being well set up by Diego Fabbrini, and again went close with a 20-yard volley after a Millwall corner went uncleared.

Rodallega did have the ball in the net on 84 minutes, but it was ruled out for offside, while Lee Gregory could have nicked it, but headed over Shaun Williams's cross.

The result leaves Millwall three points from safety, and Fulham five points above the drop zone.
