Darren Bent: 'Fulham players 100% behind Martin Jol'

Fulham striker Darren Bent insists that Martin Jol has the squad's full support despite mounting speculation surrounding the Dutchman's position at Craven Cottage.

Fulham striker Darren Bent has insisted that under-fire manager Martin Jol has the squad's full backing.

Jol's side are third from bottom in the Premier League table after winning just one of their first six games this season, with that run including just one point from three home fixtures.

Bent joined the Cottagers on loan from Aston Villa in August, scoring once in four league appearances since his summer switch.

The England forward is adamant that his teammates will fight to save the Dutchman's job, starting with this weekend's clash with Stoke City.

He told The Mirror: "The Premier League always produces pressure situations. Managers in the Premier League know that you don't last very long if you don't get results.

"But from the players' perspective, they all love Martin. They think he is a fantastic manager and everyone is behind him 100%.

"I've played quite a few minutes so I think it will come back sooner rather than later. I'm virtually there now."

The 29-year-old's move to West London has seen him link up with Jol for the second time in his career following their time together across the capital at Tottenham Hotspur.
