Galatasaray midfielder Wesley Sneijder wants to join Italian outfit Sampdoria, according to his agent Guido Albers.
It has recently been claimed that the 33-year-old is closing in on a move to the MLS, with expansion team Los Angeles FC agreeing a two-year contract with the experienced midfielder.
However, according to Albers, Sneijder wants to return to Italian football with Sampdoria, rather than make the move to North America.
"Wesley wants Samp," Albers told Il Secolo XIX. "At the moment they're his priority among the many potential solutions abroad. Wesley has always won over the fans wherever he's gone, never a problem, never a controversy."
Sneijder, who is the leading appearance-maker for Netherlands on 131 caps, has represented Galatasaray for the last five seasons - scoring 45 times in 173 appearances following a 2013 move from Inter Milan.
The playmaker won the treble under Jose Mourinho during his time at San Siro.
