Germany's Lukas Podolski backs Brazil for third place in World Cup

Germany and Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski wants Brazil to win the third-place World Cup playoff tonight.

Germany forward Lukas Podolski has wished Brazil luck for tonight's third-place World Cup playoff against Netherlands.

The Arsenal man tweeted a 'Vamos Brasil' picture, adding: "Great country, nice people. Good luck Selecao for getting 3rd place!"

After making regular appearances at the last two World Cups, Podolski has made just two substitute appearances in Brazil.

In total, Podolski has five World Cup goals to his name and won the best young player award at the 2006 tournament in Germany.
