Fernando Santos claims that Greece showed great passion throughout Euro 2012.

Greece boss Fernando Santos has said that his side displayed great passion throughout Euro 2012, despite being eliminated by Germany.

Santos, whose side progressed as runners-up in Group A, were unable to overcome the Group B winners in an eventual 4-2 defeat. However, the former Benfica boss insists that his team can take positives from the tournament.

"I congratulate my players for their efforts," he said.

"The mental [strength] and the passion is what we want to remember from this tournament. But we will have to correct some mistakes."

Germany face either Italy or England for a place in the final.
