Hertha Berlin centre-back John Anthony Brooks has suffered an injury in training that could see him out of action for up to a fortnight.
Although the Bundesliga is currently on a winter break, the injury means that Brooks will miss his side's training camp in Turkey and possibly the start of the second half of the season.
Brooks made just eight appearances in the first half of the season due to various injuries and now the American international will begin recovery from a new knee ligament strain.
Brooks, who has two caps for the USA, has been at Hertha since 2010.
