Hibernian boss Alan Stubbs: 'We're as good as any other side in the league'

Hibernian manager Alan Stubbs insists that his side are as good as any other side in the Scottish Championship after their draw with table-topping Hearts.

Hibernian manager Alan Stubbs has insisted his side are as good as any other team in the Scottish Championship following their 1-1 draw with table-topping Hearts.

The former Everton defender was quick to praise his players in the wake of the Edinburgh derby, but admitted that he was slightly disappointed with a point.

"We have come to the home of the leaders and they have been fantastic in their form - but we are as good as anyone in this division," PA Sport quotes Stubbs as saying.

"We probably just didn't start the season as strongly as we would have liked and there are reasons for that.

"It was two form teams going at it, head to head. We've come out of it with a point. I'm a little bit disappointed with a point."

The result leaves Hearts 13 points clear of second-placed Rangers at the top of the Scottish Championship, while Hibs occupy third.
