Half-Time Report: Quiet first half at KC Stadium

Middlesbrough frustrate promotion hopefuls Hull City in a goalless first half at the KC Stadium

Hull City have failed to take a step closer to a big Championship win following a goalless first half against Middlesbrough at the KC Stadium.

Chances were few and far between in the early stages of the half, with Sammy Ameobi going closest for Middlesbrough as he tested David Stockdale with a long-range strike.

Hull were lacking a threat in attack but almost scored against the run of play when Robert Koren created room for himself on the edge of the box but Jason Steele reacted well to save the low drive.

The hosts continued to improve as the first half progressed but Middlesbrough were able to hold firm to limit the chances on offer to their opponents.
