The Football Association has reportedly decided to block Hull City's proposed name change.
Hull owner Assem Allam formally requested that the club's name be changed to Hull Tigers in an attempt to appear more attractive from a commercial perspective.
However, the businessman's plans have been met with intense and continued opposition from Hull's fans.
It is now understood that the FA Membership Committee will recommend that the FA Council reject the proposal, according to Sky Sports News.
Allam claimed back in January that he would walk out on the club if his plan was not approved.
