Half-Time Report: Ipswich Town, Derby County level at break

Ipswich Town and Derby County fail to break the deadlock in the first half of their Championship clash at Portman Road.

Ipswich Town have headed into half time level with Derby County after the two sides played out a goalless first half at Portman Road in the Championship this afternoon.

Jay Tabb tried to open the scoring early on for the home side, but Lee Grant parried his powerful strike clear, while Daryl Murphy was unable to capitalise with the rebound.

Ipswich continued to look the more likely early on as Murphy and David McGoldrick powered forward, but the latter's curling effort was just wide.

Derby's first chance followed just a few minutes later as Jordan Ibe set up Jeff Hendrick for a shot which was blocked, while Malcolm Christie fired high from the rebound.

The visitors started to dominate, as Johnny Russell almost curled the ball in from a free kick before Will Hughes tried to set Christie up for another shot.

Both sides pressed in the final moments before the break, with Murphy slicing the ball just high before Chris Martin headed down the other end to force a comfortable save from Bartosz Bialkowski.
