Half-Time Report: Ipswich Town lead at Yeovil Town

Ipswich Town hold a one-goal advantage at half time in their Championship clash thanks to Christophe Berra's 40th-minute opener at Huish Park.

Ipswich Town lead at the break in their Championship clash with Yeovil Town at Huish Park thanks to a goal from Christophe Berra.

The home side pressed early to get the lead and were unfortunate not to do so when James Hayter brought the ball down in the area, but then saw his half-volley crash off the crossbar and bounce clear.

Yeovil continued to have the better of the opportunities when Luke Ayling fired a shot at goal from the edge of the box which took a deflection, and Ipswich keeper Dean Gerken had to do well to parry the ball away.

Ipswich tried to respond to the pressure from Yeovil as Paul Anderson released Daryl Murphy, who raided into the box but fired his shot over the bar.

Mick McCarthy's side upped the ante late in the half and took the lead through Berra as he tapped home from close range after Tommy Smith had headed Stephen Hunt's corner towards goal.
