Mick McCarthy: Goal from Jonathan Williams "flipping brilliant"

Jonathan Williams's goal for Ipswich Town last night was "flipping brilliant", according to manager Mick McCarthy.

Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy has described the goal scored by midfielder Jonathan Williams during last night's 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday as "flipping brilliant".

The Welshman found the net just five minutes after he had come off the bench to mark the start of his second loan stint with the Tractor Boys.

Speaking to the East Anglian Daily Times after the match, McCarthy said of Williams's equaliser: "Jonny's goal was absolutely flipping brilliant. It was the equaliser and it wouldn't have mattered had it gone in off his backside, but it was a good goal."

Williams's intervention extended Ipswich's unbeaten Championship run to six matches.
