Luke Hyam signs new three-year Ipswich Town contract

Luke Hyam signs a new three-year contract with his boyhood club Ipswich Town.

Luke Hyam has signed a new three-year contract with his boyhood club Ipswich Town.

The 21-year-old is a graduate of the club's academy and is now a regular starter under manager Mick McCarthy in the centre of midfield.

"Obviously I'm delighted. Everyone knows this is my hometown club and I want to stay here as long as possible," he told the club's official website.

"I'm really enjoying my football at the moment and I feel like I am progressing as a player, although I know I have a long, long way to go yet.

"It's a massive boost for me that the manager has given me this new contract and I just want to keep working hard and play my part in moving Ipswich Town forward."

The Tractor Boys sit 14th after the opening three league matches of the new Championship season.
