Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri admits that his players were forced to work hard during their 3-1 win at Napoli.

Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri has admitted that his side had to work hard for their victory against Napoli.

The champions moved three points clear at the top of the Serie A table on Sunday as they earned a 3-1 win at the Stadio San Paolo.

Despite insisting that the destiny of the league is far from decided, Allegri believes that his players can take plenty of confidence from their result at the Stadio San Paolo.

"I believe we played a good game and it wasn't easy," he told Gazzetta dello Sport. "We deserved the win. We really needed this hard-fought victory.

"There is still a long way to go. Juve have won the Scudetto three years in a row but that certainly doesn't mean a fourth is to be taken for granted. We still have room for improvement. We need to more clinical and when our rivals are wounded, we must go for the kill."

Juventus continue their Coppa Italia campaign on Thursday when they entertain Hellas Verona in the last 16.
