Juventus club director Giuseppe Marotta insists that the club will not stand in Alex Sandro's way if the left-back asks to leave.

Juventus club director Giuseppe Marotta has insisted that the Italian giants will not stand in Alex Sandro's way if the left-back asks to leave Turin during this month's transfer window.

Sandro was strongly linked with a move to Chelsea last summer, but ultimately remained at Juventus.

The Blues are still said to be interested in the Brazil international, while Manchester United are also believed to be in the hunt as head coach Jose Mourinho looks for a left-sided defender.

Marotta has insisted that Juventus are yet to receive any bids for Sandro, but says that the club would not stand in the 26-year-old's way if he asks to leave during the January window.

"The policy of Juventus is that if a player asks us to leave, we will not hold him back. On Alex Sandro, we know of the interest from big clubs, but at the moment we have not engaged in any negotiations," Marotta told Rai Sport.

Sandro joined Juventus from Porto in the summer of 2015.
