Goals from Lois Maynard and Richard Peniket have given Halifax Town a 2-0 half-time advantage against Kidderminster Harriers.
Halifax had the better of the opening exchanges, and after a series of set pieces in and around the Kidderminster penalty area, Marc Roberts had a header saved by Daniel Lewis.
The visitors responded with several flurries forward, although Halifax should have taken the lead after 23 minutes through Steve Williams but he directed the ball wide from close range.
However, shortly after the half-hour mark, the Shaymen edged in front when defender Maynard found the bottom corner from 20 yards for his first goal of the campaign.
Five minutes later, Halifax doubled their lead through Peniket, who capitalised on a defensive mistake to convert from a narrow angle for his fourth of the campaign, and that left Harriers with it all to do in the second half.
