FC Koln edge out Werder Bremen

FC Koln recorded a 1-0 win over Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga this evening, thanks to Anthony Ujah's second-half goal.

Ujah grabbed the winner for the visitors just before the hour mark when he slotted home with a left-footed effort after good work from Dusan Svento in the build-up.

Svento almost the doubled the lead two minutes later but he was unable to keep his shot down after Zlatko Junuzovic had an effort saved for Werder.

Earlier in the game, the lively Junuzovic teed up teammate Franco di Santo, but the ex-Chelsea striker's attempt was blocked after Fin Bartels had gone close for the home side.

Bartels came close to equalising late on, but his effort was well saved by Koln goalkeeper Timo Horn as the visitors held on to take the points.
