David Beckham has been offered the chance to own a football club in America, according to The Mirror.
The Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder has received several offers to own a Major League Soccer franchise ahead of the league's plan to expand to 20 clubs in 2013.
"David has the option for our 20th team and that option can’t be exercised until after 2011 or after he stops playing," said Dan Garber, the MLS commissioner.
"So we’ve got some time to figure this one out."
The 36-year-old is understood to be considering the offers and faces a decision on where would be the best place for a new club.
Beckham would have to meet several MLS guidelines to complete a purchase, including a $40 million expansion fee and finding an adequate stadium.
Meanwhile, LA Galaxy have offered Beckham a new one-year deal to extend his playing career in Los Angeles.
