Brian McDermott keen on Leeds United stay

Leeds United boss Brian McDermott insists that he would like to remain at the club, despite speculation over his future.

Leeds United manager Brian McDermott has insisted that he has not given up on remaining at the club, despite increasing speculation over his future.

The club's new owner Massimo Cellino has reportedly suggested that he will stick with the former Reading boss next season.

McDermott has stated that he remains fully committed to the Elland Road club.

"Leeds United fans don't give up. Leeds United's manager won't give up because of that," he told the Yorkshire Post.

"The things that have gone on here make you a better manager because you know you can tough situations out. I've certainly had to tough this out but there was never any doubt in my mind that I would tough it out and try to get us to the next stage.

"The next stage is the summer and building again. I might need to draw breath and find a bit of time but then I want to get on with things again."

Leeds ended their Championship campaign with a 1-1 draw against Derby County on Saturday.
