Leeds United manager Uwe Rosler heaps praise on striker Chris Wood

Uwe Rosler has praised Chris Wood for his excellent start at Leeds United following the striker's winner against Derby County on Saturday.

Leeds United head coach Uwe Rosler has hailed striker Chris Wood for his excellent start at the club.

The New Zealand international joined the Whites from Leicester City this summer and has already scored three goals in five league appearances, including a late winner against Derby County on Saturday.

That form, according to Rosler, proves that Wood has found the right club after numerous moves around England.

"I think he's been prepared since he walked through the door," the head coach told reporters. "He needed a home, he needed to realise that the manager really wanted him and the chairman really wanted him and that he's playing for a massive club.

"He's aware of his responsibilities because coming from a squad player to a club where's he a 40-game plus player he's aware that he has to perform in each game and has to give us a platform to play on.

"I always said from day one the goals would come because I see what he puts in, and I'm a big believer in life that what you put in you get out."

Leeds are currently 10th in the Championship after one win and four draws from their opening five games.
