Michael Tonge earns Leeds United controversial draw

A late goal from Michael Tonge earns Leeds a controversial 1-1 draw against Sheffield Wednesday in tonight's Championship encounter at Hillsborough.

A late goal from Michael Tonge has earned Leeds United a 1-1 draw against Sheffield Wednesday in tonight's Championship encounter at Hillsborough.

However, the game was marred as a Leeds supporter came onto the pitch and struck Wednesday goalkeeper Chris Kirkland following the visitors' equaliser.

Jay Bothroyd had given the hosts the lead a minute before the break when he headed in Michail Antonio's long throw.

Wednesday created a number of chances after half-time but they were undone when Tonge hammered home with 77 minutes on the clock.

As the away supporters celebrated, one fan attacked Kirkland before he made his way back into the away end.

Despite five minutes of injury time added on due to the incident, neither side was able to find a winner.
