Daniel Amartey: 'Kasper Schmeichel speech helped Leicester City draw at Stoke City'

A half-time speech from Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel led to the Foxes' 2-2 draw at Stoke City, according to midfielder Daniel Amartey.

Leicester City midfielder Daniel Amartey has praised Kasper Schmeichel for a half-time speech that helped their side come from behind to draw 2-2 at Stoke City.

The Foxes were two goals down at the break and playing with 10 men after Jamie Vardy had been sent off after 28 minutes at the bet365 Stadium.

However, second-half goals from Leonardo Ulloa and Amartey helped Claudio Ranieri's struggling charges claim a valuable point in Staffordshire.

"When we went inside [Ranieri] talked to us, Kasper talked to us and we talked to each other," Amartey told the official Leicester TV channel. "We had to come back and fight together.

"When you're on the bench, you have to be ready every game because you don't know what could happen. I'm very happy for Demarai Gray and those that came in to change the game and help us."

Leicester next face Everton at the King Power Stadium on Boxing Day.
