Nigel Pearson hails "exceptional" Leicester City

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson describes his side's display during Sunday's 5-3 win over Bolton Wanderers as "exceptional".

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has described his side's display during Sunday's 5-3 win over Bolton Wanderers as "exceptional".

Bolton twice took the lead during an action-packed first half, but the Foxes drew level at half time before Lloyd Dyer and Gary Taylor-Fletcher struck late goals to secure Leicester's third consecutive Championship victory.

"I was very pleased with how we played," Pearson told Leicester's official website. "If I'm honest, I was a little bit nonplussed by the fact that we conceded three goals, because in all honesty the goals that we conceded came out of nothing.

"Sometimes you've got to take a step back and think about the half in its entirety rather than isolated moments. Our first-half performance today in terms of us being an attacking force, it was exceptional.

"We played very well, unfortunately we were punished very severely when we made mistakes at the back and you've got to give Bolton some credit for that. It was potentially a frustrating day, but in the second half we performed well and deserved to win the game."

Leicester are now four points clear at the top of the Championship table.
