Nigel Pearson praises senior players

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson praises the impact of the senior players in his first-team squad.

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson believes that having several experienced players in his squad has helped him find the right balance with his side.

Pearson witnessed 40-year-old striker Kevin Phillips score the decisive goal against Bournemouth last weekend, but while he reserved praise for the veteran forward, the Foxes boss added that it has been a collective effort from his senior players.

The 50-year-old told Sky Sports News: "I worked with him before and I know what he's about. Along with some of the other senior players that we've had this season, they all bring a little bit more know-how and have added to it.

"We've got a better balance and hopefully that will be a key factor from here on in."

Leicester are currently 10 points clear at the top of the Championship table.
