Nigel Pearson: 'We are still on track for Championship title'

Leicester manager Nigel Pearson admits that he does not care how his side gain promotion, following a third draw in four Championship games.

Nigel Pearson has admitted that he does not care how Leicester City go up to the Premier League following a third draw in four games on Tuesday.

Dean Hammond's late header earned the Foxes a point with Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium, and while they remain seven points clear at the top, their title charge has taken a minor stumble in recent weeks.

However, should they beat Sheffield Wednesday on Friday and Queens Park Rangers lose to Bournemouth 24 hours later, Pearson's men will gain promotion, and the Leicester boss will take it any way it comes.

"I'm not taking anything for granted. We are still on track if we do it at home we do it at home, if we do it away from home we do it away from home, I'm not bothered as long as we do it," he told reporters.

"It was another good night for us any positive result for us tonight would've put us in a slightly stronger position and that's what we've done. You can see why they are on a good run because they played with much better intensity than when we played them at our place and they have good players, but I thought we dealt with the set-backs well.

"The most important thing was that we responded and we responded very, very well. I've spoken many times about this group having moved on from last year. They come on and we've become a better side because of it, so we've put ourselves in a good position."

Leicester missed out on promotion last season following defeat to Watford in the playoff semi-finals.
