Levante earn first win of season with Ruben Garcia strike

Ruben scores the only goal of the game to fire Levante to their first win of the season against Granada in their La Liga clash.

Levante secured their first win of the season as they defeated Granada 1-0 in their La Liga clash thanks to Ruben Garcia's second-half strike.

The home side pressed at the start of the match and Piti had an effort from distance that called Jesus Fernandez into action, but the keeper was able to make the stop.

Granada went close again as Jhon Cordoba raced through on goal, but Jesus was on hand to make the stop with his feet to keep his side level.

Levante tried to muster an attacking threat just before the break, and Jose Luis Morales raided forward but his effort failed to trouble Roberto in the Granada goal.

In the second half, the visitors took the lead as Ruben raided forward and fired a low effort past the outstretched hand of Roberto.

Pape Diop came close to firing in a second goal for Levante as he crashed an effort from the edge of the box, but his strike went just wide of the target.

Granada pushed on late in the game but were unable to find an equaliser due to a resilient display from the Levante backline.
