Lyon have lost ground on Ligue 1 leaders Marseille as they were held to a 1-1 draw at Lille this evening.

The home side took the lead after only seven minutes at the Grand Stade Lille Metropole as Nolan Roux struck from close range.

Lille nearly grabbed a second in the final moments of the first half but Ryan Mendes's effort was pushed away by Remi Vercourtre.

Dimitri Payet missed two good opportunities for the hosts at the start of the second half before Clement Grenier blasted his effort high and wide for Lyon.

However, the visitors grabbed an equaliser with 10 minutes to play thanks to Lisandro Lopez's drive from 25 yards.
