Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho has conceded that the success of his side's season rests on the fate of their run in the FA Cup.
The Reds fell to a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Arsenal which left them seven points adrift of the Champions League places, with seven games remaining this season.
Coutinho has insisted that his side have to keep plugging away in the league, but feels that their focus should now turn to the FA Cup ahead of their quarter-final replay clash against Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday.
He told reporters: "We have to pick our heads up and keep believing. We have to keep going for fourth. We have more games to come and lots of things can still happen.
"Of course, winning the cup would save our season. It is very important for us to have that as an objective.
"It would be a successful season to finish fifth and win the cup, but we want to be in the Champions League. That is our primary objective."
The Merseysiders last lifted the FA Cup in the 2005-6 season.
