Javier Manquillo hopes Liverpool can recover from "tough week"

Javier Manquillo insists that Liverpool want to go all the way in the Capital One Cup and believes that beating Bournemouth will boost the team's confidence.

Liverpool full-back Javier Manquillo believes that beating Bournemouth in the quarter-finals of the Capital One Cup will give the team a boost moving forward.

Brendan Rodgers's side have struggled to match last season's form when they finished second, and currently reside 11th in the Premier League table after 16 games.

Last week, the Merseyside outfit were dumped out of the Champions League at the group phase and suffered a 3-0 loss at the hands of Manchester United.

Tonight, the Reds could reach the semi-finals of the Capital One Cup if they beat Championship leaders Bournemouth at the Goldsands Stadium.

"It has been a tough week," Manquillo told the club's official website. "However, now we have to turn the page and focus on this game so we can try to reach the semi-finals. We'll work hard to win this great competition.

"A win is always welcome as it helps improve our confidence. That could only be good for everyone at the club and that's what we're going to try to do."

Liverpool have won just two games out of their last 10 in all competitions.
