Toby Alderweireld eyes "big opportunity" against Liverpool

Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld believes that his side's game with Liverpool should be seen as a 'big opportunity' for his misfiring team.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld believes that his side's upcoming game with Liverpool should be seen as a "big opportunity" for his misfiring team.

Spurs are without a win in three games and they currently sit 13 points off the Reds at the top of the table after just nine matches.

However, the former Atletico Madrid and Southampton player said that the reduced expectations on the team could be a bonus come Sunday afternoon at Anfield.

Speaking after his side's draw with Watford on Saturday, Alderweireld said: "Sunday is a big opportunity. Look, we're a team, let's go again. Let's go, like that second half.

"[Give] Our best, it's all we can do."

The Belgian defender has made 11 appearances in all competitions this season for Mauricio Pochettino's Spurs, who are in action on Tuesday in the Champions League against Red Star Belgrade.
