John Aldridge blasts Liverpool's "sloppy errors"

Liverpool legend John Aldridge blasts his former side's "sloppy errors" after they edged out Swansea City 4-3 on Sunday.

Liverpool legend John Aldridge has blasted the "sloppy errors" that nearly cost his former side in their 4-3 win against Swansea City on Sunday.

The Reds raced into a two-goal lead before Jonjo Shelvey and a Martin Skrtel own-goal restored parity.

Brendan Rodgers's side took the lead again before the break only to see Wilfried Bony make it 3-3 from the penalty spot before Jordan Henderson scored the winner 16 minutes from time.

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, Aldridge said: "It was a relief to hear the final whistle. Liverpool defended so poorly but not for the first time this season our firepower got us out of jail.

"I couldn't believe the number of sloppy errors. The communication between the goalkeeper (Simon Mignolet) and his back four was virtually non-existent.

"That tension on the pitch spread to the crowd. Everyone was worried and the atmosphere wasn't great."

Rodgers's side are currently fourth in the Premier League.
