Kenny Dalglish: 'Mario Balotelli is worth the risk'

Liverpool's pursuit of controversial AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli is worth the risk, according to Anfield legend Kenny Dalglish.

Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish believes that Mario Balotelli will be a success at Anfield.

The Reds are on the verge of completing a £16m move for the AC Milan striker.

Despite his temperamental and often controversial nature, Balotelli is worth the risk, according to Dalglish.

He told The Mirror: "The key in all of this is that Liverpool know what they are getting. They are not going into this deal with their eyes closed.

"The club is supporting Brendan Rodgers because Brendan wants the player and feels he can be a success.

"Everyone knows the questions at the first press conference will be more about fireworks than his football ability. But the reality is that the arrival of a player of his ability and charisma should only be a positive thing for Liverpool and the fans."

Liverpool travel to Balotelli's former club Manchester City on Monday evening.
