Jordan Henderson full of praise for "clever" Raheem Sterling

Jordan Henderson admits that he has been impressed by Raheem Sterling since his arrival in the England squad.

Jordan Henderson has paid tribute to Liverpool teammate Raheem Sterling for carrying his World Cup form into the start of the season for club and country.

Sterling stood out once again for England in a 1-0 victory over Norway on Wednesday night, and Henderson believes that it is the ability to play with no fear which has helped the 19-year-old make an impact.

"Raheem has been outstanding since he's come into the England first team," the midfielder told reporters. "I thought he was outstanding in both games at the World Cup. For a 19-year-old to play on the world stage like that I thought he was magnificent.

"He's really clever with his positioning. He drives forward the ball. Hopefully he can continue improving and working hard.

"Raheem plays with no fear. He just wants to get the ball run at people and take them on."

Henderson and Sterling are both expected to start the Euro 2016 qualifier against Switzerland on Monday.
