Ian Rush: 'No pressure on Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers'

Ian Rush says that Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is not under pressure, despite his side falling to a 3-0 defeat against West Ham United last weekend.

Former Liverpool striker Ian Rush has claimed that manager Brendan Rodgers is not under "any pressure" following last weekend's defeat to West Ham United.

The Merseyside outfit won their first two games of the Premier League season without conceding a goal before securing a goalless draw with Arsenal at the Emirates.

Liverpool's 100% record came crashing down last Saturday as they stumbled to a 3-0 loss at the hands of West Ham at Anfield.

"There's pressure on everyone now," FourFourTwo quotes Rush as saying. "If they beat West Ham, they'd be saying what a great start. It's amazing what one game can do.

"Manchester United are in exactly the same position as Liverpool, Chelsea are worse. It's only Man City who have come out the blocks running. I don't think there's any pressure on Brendan. The job is to get it right."

Liverpool will face arch rivals United at Old Trafford on September 12 after the international break.
