Jurgen Klopp hails "important, deserved" win for Liverpool over Chelsea

Jurgen Klopp says that Liverpool's 3-1 triumph over Chelsea was fully "deserved".

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has described his side's victory over Chelsea as an "important, deserved" win.

The German coach is celebrating his first Premier League win since taking charge of the Reds, who sealed a 3-1 triumph at Stamford Bridge this afternoon.

Ramires opened the scoring for Chelsea, but Philippe Coutinho netted twice and substitute Christian Benteke scored to give Liverpool all three points.

After the match, Klopp told BT Sport: "Important, deserved [win]. A good and intensive game, with both teams wanting to win. We didn't have the best start in this game, we had our moments and played football. I knew we would get some chances and everything is good now.

"[Coutinho is] a great player - he has unbelievable skills. Sometimes in life it's not so easy but you have to fight and work. I think he's a lucky guy in the moment and was very good for us today."

Liverpool are now seventh in the league table.
