Jurgen Klopp undecided on Daniel Sturridge start against Manchester City

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says that he is yet to make a decision on whether to start Daniel Sturridge against Manchester City.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has claimed that he will make a decision on whether to start striker Daniel Sturridge against Manchester City on the day of the game.

Sturridge has declared himself fit for Saturday evening's game after spending six weeks on the sidelines with an injury.

However, Klopp has claimed that the England international, who is yet to play a game under the German coach, is still not 100% fit.

"He's as good as he can be after the long break," Klopp told reporters in this afternoon's press conference. "I will decide this tomorrow. His quality is outstanding, but everybody needs to train. He has been out for five weeks and hasn't trained much.

"As a striker, sometimes, five minutes are enough. I'll have to see tomorrow and think about it after the press conference. He has to train now, that's for sure. Four-and-a-half weeks, he couldn't train. No cycling or running. Maybe we should. But first of all, five years contract, everyone wants to see more of him but we have to find the right balance and we'll see."

Liverpool are 10th in the Premier League table, nine points adrift of City, who lead the way.
