Adam Lallana frustrated by "stop-start" campaign at Liverpool

Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana reveals that he has been frustrated by a "stop-start" debut campaign at Anfield.

Adam Lallana has admitted that he has been left frustrated by a "stop-start" debut season at Liverpool.

The England international signed from Southampton for around £25m last summer, but has struggled with a succession of injuries.

Lallana recently shrugged off a hip injury, but the ex-Saints captain has said that his first campaign at Anfield has not gone according to plan.

He told the club's official website: "It has been stop-start for me. I've been really frustrated. I'd get going and then find myself on the treatment table again.

"I'll be looking to push on towards the end of the season, do as well as I can and get a good pre-season under my belt and crack on again. We've got an important run of games left and I want to be a big part of that.

"I felt fine. It probably gave it that little bit extra, which I needed to as it was a bit of a recurrence. But I felt strong and I've trained for four or five days now. Hopefully I'll get a part to play in the Hull game."

Brendan Rodgers's side were held to a goalless draw by West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns on Saturday.
