Adam Lallana prepared to work hard for Liverpool place

Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana says that he will have to work hard for the team if he wants to be a regular under Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana has admitted that he will have to work hard in attack and defence if he wants to be a regular in the side under Jurgen Klopp.

The former Borussia Dortmund coach has drawn all three of his games in charge of the Reds so far, with the latest coming at home to Southampton on Sunday.

Lallana, who has started all three of those games playing just behind the striker, has said that his game will be about more than creating chances.

"Just because we play as a number 10 in that position doesn't mean you can't stretch the game or you can't do some of the dirty work to help other players in the team," he told the club's official website.

"It's about helping each other and whether that's running off the ball or running with the ball, being unselfish, as long as it helps the team that is what the manager is focused on.

"I'm sure the manager would want a bit more time on the training pitch but as a player you want to be playing as much as you can."

Liverpool host Bournemouth in the League Cup this evening.
