Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva has been sidelined for up to two months with a knee injury.
The Brazilian suffered ligament damage on Saturday after coming off the bench during the Reds' 2-2 draw with Aston Villa in the Premier League.
Lucas, 27, is now expected to be out of action until around the end of March.
Liverpool return to the pitch on Saturday when they travel to Bournemouth in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
