Report: Carlo Ancelotti rules out move to Liverpool

Former Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti reportedly rules himself out of the running to become the next Liverpool manager.

Former Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly distanced himself from speculation that he could become the next Liverpool manager.

The Premier League club are believed to be keen to recruit a new boss before the Reds' game against Tottenham Hotspur on October 17.

The position became available on Sunday afternoon when the club's American owners FSG decided to sack Brendan Rodgers just three hours after Liverpool's 1-1 draw against Everton in the Merseyside derby.

Ancelotti became an early favourite, alongside former Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp, once the axe fell on Rodgers, but according to The Express, the Italian coach has no plans to return to management until next summer.

The 56-year-old, who was sacked by Madrid at the end of last season, is said to have told the newspaper: "I have not had any offer from Liverpool."

Ancelotti has coached Juventus, AC Milan, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain in his career.
