Liverpool to move for Jurgen Klopp?

Liverpool identify Jurgen Klopp as the man to replace sacked manager Brendan Rodgers at Anfield, according to The Mirror.

Liverpool have reportedly identified Jurgen Klopp as the man to replace Brendan Rodgers following the Northern Irishman's dismissal on Sunday.

Rodgers, 42, was sacked just eight Premier League games into the 2015-16 campaign after this afternoon's 1-1 draw at local rivals Everton left them six points behind leaders Manchester City.

Ex-Borussia Dortmund coach Klopp and former Real Madrid and Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti have been linked to the role in recent days and, according to The Mirror, the Reds have earmarked the German.

The report goes on to state that the Anfield club hope to appoint the 48-year-old before their next league outing on October 17, with the international break coming next week.

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher recently stated that he would opt for Klopp rather than Ancelotti, who has won the Champions League on three occasions.
