Report: Mamadou Sakho set for month out

Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho is reportedly set for a month on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.

Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho is reportedly due to miss the next month of action with a hamstring injury.

The France international came off during the Reds' 1-0 win over Blackburn Rovers in an FA Cup replay on Wednesday, and could now miss the next four weeks, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The news will come as a huge blow to manager Brendan Rodgers, who has already had to deal with the suspensions of Martin Skrtel and Emre Can in recent games, although the German is due to return against Newcastle United on Monday.

Sakho will miss Liverpool's FA Cup semi-final with Aston Villa at Wembley next Sunday, although the Reds are believed to be hopeful of having the centre-back in the squad for the trip to Chelsea on May 10.
